Bad Suns Get Ready for Summer With “Heaven is A Place in My Head”

Alternative Rock band Bad Suns are showing they are ready for the summer. Last week, they released their newest single, “Heaven is A Place in My Head.”

Bad Suns Go Way Back

Originally from California, Bad Suns have been around for over 8 years. From alternative rock to indie, they have explored genres, and have gained tons of fans over the years. Their 2014 hit “Cardiac Arrest” has gained an amazing amount of 85 million streams on Spotify. Right behind it, “Daft Pretty Boys” has accumulated over 65 million streams on the platform.

“Heaven is A Place in My Head” follows September 2020’s single “Baby Blue Shades,” and it’s their first song of the year. It’s rumored that both tracks will be part of an upcoming project, but this hasn’t been confirmed yet.

The new sunny track is the perfect way to start your summer. Giving dance-pop and pop-rock vibes, it makes you want to get up and dance. “Take me anywhere besidеs here, baby. Summer nеver lasts as long as you want it to. As long as I’m next to you, don’t wake me. I’m living in a goddamn daydream. Nothing ever lasts as long as you want it to. As long as I’m next to you, I’m feeling like the sun never sets,” they sing while wishing the summer would last forever.

“Heaven is A Place in My Head” Was a Year-Long Project

“This song is special to us because it came so close to never existing,” vocalist Christo Bowman told Alternative Press. “In May of last year, we were all in the process of experimenting with writing songs together over the internet. We jumped on a video call and I played the guys this piece of music I’d written the day before.”

He continues, “I was really missing performing and wanted us to create something which channeled the energy of one of our live shows. We wrote the melodies and lyrics, and it then sat in our dropbox for several months, essentially forgotten. Then in January of 2021, as we were nearing the end of our recording process, our producer played the demo and we all looked at each other and collectively thought, ‘This is amazing, why haven’t we recorded this?’”

Go listen to Bad Suns’ “Heaven is A Place in My Head” and give your summer the start it deserves!
