BABYMONSTER Return With Ballad ‘Stuck In The Middle’

“Stuck In The Middle”

BABYMONSTER are back with new music—and they’ve thrown YG listeners for a loop. YG Entertainment represents artists who often release powerful, maximalist music. BABYMONSTER’s latest single, “Stuck In The Middle,” takes that expectation and turns it on its head. The single is a love ballad with minimal instrumentation. Strong piano melody plays at the forefront of everything else in the song’s production.

“Stuck In The Middle” is about being in love with someone but not knowing if they feel the same. The girls sing about receiving mixed signals from the person they’re interested in.

“You tell me that you need me then you walk away
Keep promising forever with the words you say
It’s true
Don’t know what I’m supposed to do”

In particular, the chorus portrays the song’s main emotions. The BABYMONSTER girls feel strung along, stuck in the middle of something that feels as if it’s going nowhere.

“I’m stuck in the middle with you, you, you
With you, you, oh, boy, you got me really confused
Don’t know what I’m supposed to do
I’m stuck in the middle with you”

Sung entirely in English, the song easily reaches the emotions of a wide variety of listeners. Its music video is full of simplistic, elegant visuals.

BABYMONSTER’s 2024

The girl group is approaching this single release with the high of their debut single, “BATTER UP,” in mind. It was the fastest K-pop debut music video to surpass 100 million views.

Their first mini album is set to come out this spring. Additionally, their first full-length album will come out this fall. Hopefully, by about this time next year, fans will have a much more substantial BABYMONSTER discography to listen to.
