“Untouched, XO, young love, baby, let’s go,” Rae croons with bated breath on the angelic single. Rae, a loyal acolyte of mother “brat” Charli XCX, unleased an off-kilter pop song that’s finally showing how this ex-TikTok influencer’s off-the-grid identity mined a progressive synth sonic that’s both haunting, euphoric, and riddled with nostalgic internet It Girl-isms. “Diet Pepsi” had a slowburn ascent, going from a khia placement on Billboard’s Bubbling Under chart to a new peak of No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Initially, the song was called ‘Backseat,’ and I say that in the song a lot more than I say ‘Diet Pepsi,” Rae told Vogue. “But that weekend, we went to the Boiler Room for Charli’s set, and I played it for her, and she told me I should call it ‘Diet Pepsi.’ I trust Charli; she’s always been so real to me and the best big sister in the industry. I was like, ‘Well, I love Diet Pepsi. We’re doing it.'” Stream “Diet Pepsi” by Addison Rae below!

“No One Noticed” by by The Marías

The latest album from The Marías, “Submarine,” catalogs the breakup between frontwoman María Zardoya and drummer-producer Josh Conway. The record shows the depths of their love, despair, and all its underbelly beauty, especially on “No One Noticed,” a TikTok viral somber torch track solely lit by a low-tempo guitar and siren vocals.

Thanks to its love-lost lyrics, the oceanic song has around 160,000 creates on the video platform. “Come on, don’t leave me; it can’t be that easy, babe. If you believe me, I guess I’ll get on a plane,” María sings. “Fly to your city excited to see your face. Hold me, console me, and then I’ll leave without a trace. “Una Velita” by Bad Bunny

Translated to “A Little Candle,” Bad Bunny’s latest release coincides with the destruction that 2017’s Hurricane Maria left Puerto Rico.
