FIZZ Takes Us On A “Hell Of A Ride” In New Single

Emerging high-spirited band of friends FIZZ, release the second single “Hell of A Ride” from their debut album The Secret To Life

“Hell of A Ride”

The trailblazing quartet comprises of dodie, Orla Gartland, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown. Brown’s dissimilar vocals are at the forefront of “Hell of A Ride” in combination with a prominent bassline. The relatable lyrics embody the feeling shared by most 20-something- year-olds.

Fizz writes about a state of hopelessness due to the failure to meet the unrealistic standards they set for themselves. This state of life feels like the end of the world especially for a young person. Fizz sings about experiencing this at the age of 25 and feeling like it’s their predetermined destiny. Fizz is already beginning to ponder about death. Additionally, as they reflect on life they feel unfulfilled thinking about the “what ifs”.

For Fizz, it’s too late to reach their desired potential, as the world is in flames. “I think of everything I could have been / A superhero in a limousine / Or a hot shot living on top / But instead, look what I’ve got / The world is on fire / Baby pass me a lighter – cause I’m…”

Fizz struggles to find purpose through a puzzling period in their life. “I remember when I lost my mind / It was a pretty chilly Tuesday night / And the man on the tele said / Build a bunker in your shed / Tell your mum I love her.”

Though the bridge ends the track on an optimistic note where Fizz reaches a peaceful state supported by heavenly harmonies. “Looks like the sun’s coming out again / And I see my friends and they’re over the moon to see me / What a surprise / God I’m glad / I’m alive I’m alive I’m alive I’m alive I alive.”
