The latest installment of the immensely popular action franchise John Wick has finally arrived. On March 24th, the highly anticipated John Wick 4 released in theaters. In addition to the film’s captivating visuals and the majesty of Keanu Reeves, it’s offered an exciting original single titled “Eye For An Eye” from Rina Sawayama.

The franchise’s stunning cinematography, intricate fight choreography, and brutal violence have captivated audiences since the release of the first film in 2014. Fan favorite Keanu Reeves famously seeks revenge on an international crime syndicate in spectacular fashion after the death of his dog at their hands. Subsequently, the films have ramped up the stakes and the action; with the fourth likely to top them all.
Rina Sawayama
Not only did Sawayama compose the single, but she also stars in the film as Akira. With just two albums out now, Rina Sawayama has demonstrated an almost unbelievable variety within her discography. For example, her first album features the track “Xs” which is emphatically poppy. The song just after, titled “Stfu!” contains an instrumental backing that is totally metal. Both John Wick and Sawayama take things over the top in their own respects, which makes them a stellar combination.
Eye For An Eye
The single released for the film perfectly fits the mood and circumstances of the John Wick story. The song provides a sense of doom, as well as the fight against it. Reflective of the tone in the film, the song is heavy and industrial. Rina Sawayama pulls together a thick electronic bass, grimy guitar riffs, and driving drum beat along with her killer vocals to create a thrilling combination of electronica and hard rock.
