IV Dante, a sonic lovechild between One Direction and Matt Healy, solo creates his music to perfection like the whimsical and hard-hitting “Pixie Dreams.” However, the artist’s catalogue stands out in its right, fueled by a dominate electric guitar presence.
The ability to to sound original is something Dante continually remasters over time. Therefore, Music Daily wants to highlight his killer sound by making IV Dante today’s Music Discovery highlight.
“Pixie Dreams” by IV Dante
Instantly the artist’s voice is smothered, barely above the light, rhythmic guitar production. It slowly amps up, Dante swings, “The crazy and the balanced mind / The broken and the lucky find / Our bodies when they’re intertwined / Black out these lights.”
What begins easy going hits a head with an electric guitar and melodic riffs. ” The fantasy / is messing me up, I’ve been falling / (in your pixie dream.)”
The crux of “Pixie Dream” is essentially being so right with another person that is cannot be real, perhaps it’s a fever dream. Or rather a pixie dream. All we know is that he needs to “lose his head” more to create stellar guitar pop like this.
More About The Artist
“Guitars, smiles and hair-flicks” is how IV DANTE describes himself. He is the perfect middle man between youthfulness and an old soul– crafting a melting pot consisting of everything from grandiose ‘80s pop to polished modern indie. Of course, the Melbourne artist always wanted to create an artist name. Dante spoke of the unlocked importance of adding “IV” in an interview.
“When I searched up ‘IV DANTE’ into google, the only thing that appeared from chapters from one of Dante Alighieri’s poems which was listed a ‘Chapter IV – Dante Alighieri’. Once I saw this is felt like a full circle kind of moment as my Italian grandparents would teach me about the history of ‘Dante Alighieri’ as a kid and the origin of my name.”
What ultimately drew him to music was learning guitar. What drew him to making music was simply to share his ideas, his lyrics. And when he’s not performing, he’s writing and producing alongside engineer Sam Swain (DNCE) to create his blissful and groovy pop songs.
