5 Seconds of Summer bless us with the fourth single from their upcoming album, 5SOS5. Following the release of “COMPLETE MESS,” “Take My Hand” and “Me Myself & I” the new track “BLENDER” is a pop-rock anthem. And as the title suggests, it’s a rapid-fire swirling of all kinds of emotions. The band has been playing the track live on their Take My Hand World Tour, but now fans have access to the studio version.
“BLENDER” has such a quick pace and catchy chorus, it’ll be no surprise if 5 Seconds of Summer score another hit with this one. Its blunt and honest songwriting mixed with punchy drums and guitar makes me even more excited to see what’s in store on 5SOS5. The album is scheduled for release on September 23 via BMG. Digging Into 5SOS’s “BLENDER”
It’s the most impressive single they’ve released in support of 5SOS5. The band has been together for a decade now, and this song is a shining example of their growth. They lay all their feelings out on the table with “BLENDER.” “All the things you said in my head/ Ricochetting off the bed/ Nothing left, what a mess/ Oh, my God, it never ends/ Now we’re stressed and depressed/ And we’re going ’round again/ In an еmotional blender,” Luke Hemmings sings on the chorus.
There’s also a fun new game arriving with the release of “BLENDER.” Fans can click here to play a series of 5SOS retro arcade games. “BLENDER BRUTALITY” is a pac-man style game where fans grab all the items and escape the blenders.
5SOS are currently on the road for their Take My Hand World Tour. The tour wraps up July 24 at Saint Louis Music Park. The band also announced a very special live show at Royal Albert Hall on September 22 for the release of 5SOS5. They’ll play the new album as well as their hits, accompanied by a live orchestra.
