Why Don’t We Cancel Tour & Announce Hiatus

Pop boyband Why Don’t We announced that they have to cancel their upcoming tour and are going on hiatus.

The Good Times Only Tour Gets Canceled

Very sad news for Why Don’t We fans arrived. The boyband announced that due to their ongoing legal battle with the production company they first signed to when starting the band, they will not be allowed to go on tour anytime soon. To make things even sadder, they also revealed that they are going on hiatus indefinitely.

The five-member group made by Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jack Avery, Jonah Marias, and Zach Herron were going to hit the road on The Good Times Only Tour starting on July 27, but now they are being forced to cancel. Why Don’t We shared the news on their social media. They also shared a portion of the cease and desist letter from their management company, Signature Entertainment Partners.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances related to our ongoing legal battle to emancipate ourselves from the production company we signed with when we started our Why Don’t We journey, we regretfully have to cancel our 2022 Good Times Only Tour. All we ever want to do in our careers is make great music and perform for all you lovely people.”

“Refunds will be automatically processed at the point of purchase,” they added. “In light of this announcement, Why Don’t We is officially going on hiatus. Your love and support means everything to us 5 guys. We love you!”

Why Don’t We Face a Legal Battle

Included in their post was a cease and desist letter from the managers, saying Why Don’t We “does not have the capacity” to enter an agreement with a tour promoter or venue for the tour. It also states they were to cease and desist from “promoting or otherwise proceeding with the tour or using Signature’s intellectual property rights without Signature’s authorization.” It was signed by the managers they are trying to end their contract with.

The news arrive just as they released their latest single “How Do You Love Somebody.” The group had already had to reschedule their tour once. Earlier this year they were forced to pause ticket sales due to the same battle. Hopefully, they are able to move forward from this and come back as a band soon. We wish them the best!
