Uffie Shares Shiny New Single “dominoes”

Singer-songwriter Uffie released her latest single “dominoes,” following up to last year’s comeback on “cool.”

Uffie is Officially Back With “dominoes”

Last year, in September, Uffie unveiled her comeback single, “cool” which arrived also a year later from her 2020 lone track “FroYo for Your Tears.” Well, fans won’t have to wait another full year to hear new music from the singer again, because she recently announced that her upcoming studio album, Sunshine Factory, is coming out on May 20! The album will arrive as the follow-up to 2019’s Tokyo Love Hotel and will include new unreleased tracks like “anna jetson,” “sophia” and “giants.” It will also have one exclusive artist collaboration with NNAMDÏ on “a month of mondays.”

The album announcement comes with the new single “dominoes.”  The dance-punk track comes with a video where the singer envisions herself as a disco ball by dowsing herself in glitter.

It’s directed by Sizzy Rocket and “pays homage to Andy Warhol’s film style and his New York City studio ‘The Factory;” often referred to as the Silver Factory for its decor of fractured mirrors, tin foil, and other metallic decorating materials; loved by early amphetamine users of the 1960’s,” according to a press statement.

Sunshine Factory Will Explore Different Genres

Sunshine Factory will arrive via Toro y Moi’s label Company Records. “This album explores so many genres,” Uffie says. “You get a bit of whimsical indie-pop with ‘cool;’ there are some club bangers down the line, but ‘dominoes’ is my punk-ska moment; Toro y Moi and Lokoy really took this poetic composition and turned it into something energetic and fun. The video captures the lightheartedness of the song, and I got to portray one of my alter egos, Mother Martian (in my silver jumpsuit), who is just one of many guests in the Sunshine Factory club.”
