Alright it’s time I talk about the Misfits. No, I’m not talking about the irreverent, raunchy, and unapologetic YouTuber group of the same name. I’m talking about the horror punk subgenre pioneering band Misfits! These guys have been around for a really long time, 1977 to be exact. With such an impact anyone would be clawing at that chance to see them live! For a long time fans and new, this year’s New Year’s Eve show was that chance.
However, that didn’t happen. Instead, The Misfits would address fans with this Instagram post and refunds below:
So let’s talk about it.
The Misfits & The Canceled New Year’s Show
Now, first things first, obviously this kind of news sucks for people who’ve been waiting for their chance to see this band. I don’t exactly blame anyone for feeling like their chance was taken away from them. However, I’d like to play devil’s advocate and remind everyone that these guys are pushing 65! Be respectful and understand that they’re no longer as spry as they used to be.
So what does this mean? Will we ever see them again? Clearly, the Misfits want to keep playing music but shows will have to be scattered. Luckily, this seems to be the case for 2023 and fans online are showing support and concern for the group.
Looking for a taste of The Misfits? Maybe you just want to relive the good ol’ days? Either way, below is an example of what these guys are famous for.
Edgy, rockin’, and horror focused. The Misfits were great at what they made and it’s no wonder people I knew in highschool would love them. What about you?
