Alright everybody, we’re back at it again with a brand new Featured Artist! Today we’ll be taking a look at the classic journey of The Greeting Committee! Allons-y!
The Greeting Committee Says Hello!
Alright, picture this: you’re in high school and you see a group of emo kids saying that they’re gonna start a band. Not just any band, a totally-not-a-ripoff of Black Veil Bride. Then, you graduate and see that the band isn’t together. They’ve b
roken up, “grown up,” and never even got to hear their music play on the radio. That just so happens to be the sad truth about a bunch of us dreamers. However… there’s more than a few examples of the exact opposite.
Good morning starshine, the Greeting Committee says hello! Well, being more accurate, these guys said “hello” way back in 2015. Yep, these high school friends made some jams and got on the radio in their hometown. You might recognize ‘em with the following song:
After the breakthrough success that was “Hands Down,” Addie Sartino, Brandon Yangmi, Pierce Turcotte, and Austin Fraser signed onto Harvest Records! Also, they re-released their first EP with more professional production and polish. From that point on it’s been a bit of a non-stop ride. Following, there were tours, festivals, and an amazing debut album to feed fans of The Greeting Committee.
And Please Come Again:
That was all throughout a period of about three to four years. As for where they’re at now, welp that’s a bit of a downer. Specifically a downer because the original drummer, Austin Fraser, left the band. However, I’m an optimistic realist; with Fraser’s skill I’m sure he’ll be a-okay. As for The Greeting Committee themselves, they’ve got a new album out! Dandelion came out to great success this year and of course warranted a tour. You could say that the Dandelion era is over, but one thing’s for certain. The Greeting Committee will be back again, and they’ll be welcomed with open arms. And would you look at that… they did!
And fun’s the name of the game! Guess we’ll have to see where we go from here! For their latest song click above or here. For more on your favorites and unknowns check out our Word and Drops sections.
