The late Selena Quintanilla, otherwise known as Selena, will be honored in a new project. Por Siempre Selena is a two-hour musical special honoring the legacy of the late singer. It will feature stories from her life and tributes to her impact in the genre.
Funny enough, this isn’t the only project that will be coming out in her name. Additionally, her father, Abraham Quintanilla, has also announced there’s a new album in the works and releasing later this year. Featuring unreleased music and modified songs through Warner Music Latina. TelevisaUnivision on the other hand, will be taking care of the broadcasting for Por Siempre Selena. Here’s what the Quintanilla family had to say in a statement to Rolling Stone about the special:
“A cultural icon today, Selena and our music has transcended time and inspired many generations across the globe. We are proud to continue to honor her legacy by partnering with Univision to produce Por Siempre Selena, a TV musical celebration that will pay tribute with an all-star lineup performing all her iconic hits.”
