RÜFÜS DU SOL’s hiatus is officially over! After three long years, the band has made their big return to music with their new single “Alive.”
A Heavier, But Hopeful Song
The new track talks about going through life feeling its ups and downs. We all have gone through painful experiences, and that’s exactly the message that RÜFÜS DU SOL send over the song. “There’s a pain in my chest that I can’t describe. It takes me down and leaves me there. When I talk to the night I can feel it’s stare. It creeps inside and meets me there. At least I’m alive,” they sing.
The song gives us a taste of classic dance mixed with a not-so-upbeat lyricism. The song is completely relatable and will make you want to sing it at the top of your lungs. “It’s a heavier song in some ways, but at its core it’s hopeful,” frontman Tyrone Lindqvist said of the song in a press statement. “We are – all of us – living in this transitional moment right now and we wanted to focus on the hope that the future holds for us all. To focus on the light at the end of this tunnel.”
