Released earlier this month, ‘Resentment’ is the new single from PARTYNEXTDOOR. This is the second drop of 2023 for the beatmaker and songwriter from Mississauga, Canada, after ‘Her Old Friends’. PARTYNEXTDOOR has decided to take another direction from the upcoming summer trends. “Resentment,” indeed, doesn’t really care about the period of the year we’re in, but consistently follows the artist path. PARTYNEXTDOOR definitely doesn’t need presentations, over the years he’s become a singer with a recognizable sound. He’s part of that contemporary R&B sad wave that we like so much, and the first artist to sign for Drake’s record label OVO Sound in 2013.
New Album’s On The Way
With “Resentment,” PARTYNEXTDOOR sets the tone for his forthcoming album, PARTYNEXTDOOR 4. As also confirmed by PND and Drake, who popped out to surprise fans at PARTYNEXTDOOR’s latest show in Toronto, telling fans, “I’m going on tour, but Party’s dropping PND4.” It will mark the musician’s first project since the 2021 rendition of his COLOURS EP. The eight-song composition hit streaming platforms with singles like “Let’s Get Married,” “Jus Know” and “Freak In You,” among others. It also featured Travis Scott and Ca$h Out, the latter of whom appeared on “Don’t Worry.”
Now it’s time for PARTYNEXTDOOR to renovate himself. People expect so much from him, and it goes without saying that after his professional break he has more to pursue. Yet another challenge for a talented artist who revealed to be one of the best new artists for 10 years now. Him and many others have been able to transform the R&B genre into something else, and we believe he’ll be able to do it again. Challenge accepted?
