On the first day of 2024, Marvel actor and surprise singer Jeremy Renner released his new song “Wait,” as well as news on new music. The song commemorates the anniversary of the actor’s almost fatal snow plow accident when a snowplow ran him over. The emergency brake wasn’t working, and when Renner’s nephew was about to get run over, Renner moved to save him and got crushed. The incident resulted in many injuries, for which he excused himself from the public eye for most of 2023. This life-changing event inspired him to create new music.
Known for acting in Marvel films, as well as other films, Renner’s music career started years ago. It serves as another form of his artistic expression.
Renner recently announced that he will be releasing Love and Titanium, a new collection of music. The actor revealed that the process of making the music has been personal, which resulted in a struggle to complete the project and give it an official release date. However, Jeremy Renner announced the EP’s release date with the release of “Wait.” Love and Titanium will come out on January 19.
Commenting on the new music, the actor wrote a special message on his social media last year.
“A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year. ‘Love and Titanium’ has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create. I hope I get the courage to share with you all.”
With the courage to show the world what he went through, the actor has finally started promoting his new music on late-night shows and other forms of TV. His cover of “House of the Rising Sun,” from 2022, came up in an episode of season 3 of The Umbrella Academy. A beginning for Renner to finish what he started.
