On Alan Walker and Sasha Sloan’s Latest “Hero”

On Friday May 5th, Norwegian born Alan Walker  released ‘Hero’ in collaboration with American singer Sasha Slone. The track celebrates everyday unsung heroes who do so much for others, even when others do not notice it. It uses both Walker’s cinematic melodies and undulating baselines and Slone’s powerful lyrics to make listeners connect with its message. Fame Magazine predicts the track “…is sure to be a hit this summer, in the line up for Walker’s upcoming festivals.” It follows his first release of the year, “Dreamer,” a collaboration with NCS, which could be Walker’s second summer hit.

Alan Walker and Sasha Sloan Talk About “Hero”

Walker commented on the collaboration, telling Fame Magazine, “I’ve been looking forward to releasing this song for a long time. It’s also been a pleasure working with Sasha and her incredible voice. I hope it inspires listeners to embrace their inner hero. To live openly and love deeply.” Sloan said something similar to Fame, as she “was so excited when Alan asked me to sing on this track. I’ve been a fan of his since “Faded” and I am stoked for our song to be out in the world.” This track is also Sloan’s second collaborative single, following “Saving Me,” one she did with German DJ, Topic.

As ‘Faded’ continues to be his top track with 1.7 billion streams on Spotify as of 2015, “Hero” has the potential to top it. The DJ is also currently the most followed DJ on Spotify alone, along with all his other accolades. With his other collaborations with artists like  Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, and A$AP Rocking, there is no telling what comes next. This month Walker is heading to Vietnam and Indonesia to perform in the Grand Prix Formula E and the Heineken Silver Music Festival.
