No Rome Recruits Charli XCX & The 1975 in ‘Spinning’

Filipino artist No Rome has teamed up with Charli XCX & The 1975 in a brand new EDM single, ‘Spinning.’

The ‘Spinning’ Collab Was Years in the Making

The big collab was first confirmed by Matthew Healy of The 1975 back in January. On an Instagram post, he announced that he was working with Charli XCX. No Rome confirmed more details about the track on Twitter a few weeks later. “ok some news – me, (the creator of music) charli xcx & the 1975 have a song together. . got the masters done and waiting on video edit cuts. coming out sooner than u think ok thats all for now  i love u.” He then sent a follow-up tweet. “just thought i’d share cos im gassed as fuck. life is a little weird rn but Hey Got some Lovin for Music xx.”

On the other hand, Charli also tweeted about the song one day prior to its release. “I think Rome and the 1975 guys are so talented, it’s honestly so cool to have this song with them, I feel like we all speak the same musical language in some way, and that language is stunning/exquisite/tasteful and chic.”

The amazing collab was actually years in the making. Based on a video Charli posted playing a demo of the song, it seems that ‘Spinning’ dates back to August of 2019. That also coincides with Healy’s initial confirmation of a collaboration with Charli, which happened across several now-deleted tweets. In one of the tweets from August 10th, 2019, Healy said; “Sent her a beat at like 5 pm yesterday and woke up this morning to a HIT. A MONSTER TUNE!! I’m prolific but she’s on some shit @charli_xcx”

We’re just happy the collab finally made it to the light! It sounds amazing, and it’s a tune that will definitely be stuck in your head. You can now listen to ‘Spinning’ on all major platforms!
