The History of New Orleans’ Iconic Festival
Dating back to 1970, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival has been quite the range for some time. Held at the Fair Grounds Race Course in Louisiana, it’s a massive event that gives back to the community in the form of a 501(c)(3) non-profit. By hosting huge music names in the Crescent City, New Orleans is able to fundraise and redistribute money back into the community through a variety of channels. It’s a win-win for everyone!
The festival hosts more than just music. As the name suggests, it’s a great way to explore New Orleans’ culture and heritage as well. Jazzfest offers multiple craft and food vendors to support, all of which give attendees the chance to experience traditional meals under their “no carnival food” policy. Second only to Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest is an amazing opportunity to get the best of the best that New Orleans can provide. With such an intricate, beautiful culture, paired with off-the-charts music and some of the best food America has to offer, attending this fest is a no-brainer.
