Maryon King & Male Toxicity in “Boys Will Be Boys”

Modernity has given birth to a plethora of toxic traits, some in men, some in women. Today we’ll be looking at the male side of things. As for who’ll be setting the groundwork for this, it’s none other than the TikTok star Maryon King. Boasting a relatively small but dedicated fanbase, Maryon has been teasing the perfect club track “Boy Will Be Boys.” Without further ado, let’s get into it.

Male Toxicity Encapsulated:

As a guy, it’s a little bit uncomfortable to see this kind of perception of my sex. That said, I totally get how someone can come to these conclusions. It’s a very specific kind of boy, not every boy. The kind of boy that hasn’t grown up. The kind who hasn’t realized that the way he’s carrying himself has a negative effect on his partner. Whether it’d be through empty gestures or disregarding their partner’s feelings, it can and will lead to issues. Maryon King expresses these dissatisfactions from a girl’s perspective in an incredible club-type track. There’s a bit of finality with the main hook:

“Boy will be boys will boys will be poison, turn you toys and leave you when you’re broken.”

Of course, this isn’t for me. It’s for the broken-hearted girls who’ve been messed up by ex boyfriends. It’s for a girls night out, bad bitch energy and all. With its bounce and infectious filtered vocals, I can’t say it’s bad at all. Make sure to check out Maryon King on TikTok and Spotify!
