Machine Gun Kelly has released two new live performances from his latest album, Mainstream Sellout, to his Youtube. Partnering with Vevo, the Cleveland native performs live renditions of “twin flame” and “fake love don’t last.”
A Somber Performance of “Twin Flame”
The live version of “Twin Flame” dropped on July 27th. Machine Gun Kelly lays down, microphone in hand, donning black attire and pink hair. He sings over simple string chords, “You’re too good for me / I’m too bad to keep / I’m too sad, lonely / I want you only.” MGK recently dedicated the song to “his wife” Megan Fox and their “unborn child.” He alludes to the possibility that he and Megan suffered a miscarriage, and that the experience influenced the second part of “twin flame.” Machine Gun Kelly sings with more pain and emotion on the last verse as the song picks up. He plays guitar, singing “Go to sleep / I’ll see you in my dreams / This changes everything / Now I have to set you free.”
MGK and Iann Dior Bring the Heat on “Fake Love Don’t Last”
Machine Gun Kelly has also released his live performance of “Fake Love Don’t Last” with Iann Dior. MGK sports a red-striped shirt, red pants, pink hair and a pink guitar. He sings over a punk-pop beat, “I want you to know that you can’t come back / I want you to know that fake love don’t last.” Iann Dior joins in on the fun, wearing all black and serenading the camera. The two join each other in the same room as they sing the chorus, surrounded by changing lights. Kelly and Dior create an infectiously fun atmosphere, aided by a band and MGK’s killer guitar skills. The pair have collaborated together before, with Iann featuring on “Nothing Inside” from MGK’s 2020 album Tickets To My Downfall.
