Lil Nas X to Start “Long Live Montero” Tour

Lil Nas X, perhaps one of the biggest stars in recent pop culture, is embarking on his first-ever tour. HIs long-awaited Long Live Montero tour kicks off in early September, with Lil Nas X making his first stop in Detroit.

Lil Nas X Goes on His First Tour

Though Lil Nas X shot to fame in 2019 over his single, “Old Town Road,” he’s yet to go on a tour. A recent pandemic limited his performances to award shows and TV streaming. The Georgia native and 2-time Grammy winner starts his first-ever tour on September 6th at The Filmore in Detroit. His tour, aptly named, revolves around his debut album, MONTERO. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and simultaneously had 10 songs in the Hot 100 as well.

Fans are Hype to Hear All of MONTERO

Notable tracks from the album include “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name),” “INDUSTRY BABY” featuring rap phenom Jack Harlow, and “THAT’S WHAT I WANT.” Fans are counting down the days until Lil Nas X finally performs tracks from the album, as until now they’ve only seen him perform a few songs at award shows.

Busy on Social Media

Lil Nas X announced his tour in April, and since then has been busy promoting on social media. His first announcement on Twitter reads: “i’m having my very first tour. and all of u better come or i will cry on instagram live.” Honestly, this is pretty on-brand for the man who wore a baby bump for months to promote his album. For the most up-to-date information on the Long Live Montero tour, be sure to check back to his Instagram and website frequently.

A Record-Breaking Year for Montero

Besides the announcement of his Long Live Montero tour, Lil Nas X has had a wonderful year. He’s been nominated 7 times this year for an MTV VMA, therefore becoming the first openly-gay artist to be nominated for Artist of the Year. His second single off MONTERO, “INDUSTRY BABY” with Jack Harlow, became the most-streamed song of 2021. Consequently, he holds the record for the most streamed song in two different years, starting with 2019’s “Old Town Road”.
