Pop icon Lady Gaga is returning to her Jazz and Piano Las Vegas residency at the Park MGM Hotel and Casino on August 31st.
Fans get 12 chances to see the eccentric songstress: August 31st, September 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 9th, 10th, 28th, 30th, and October 1st, 4th, or 5th. The Jazz and Piano shows are a more intimate, sit-down affair, as opposed to the stand-and-scream type of show Lady Gaga, puts on whilst on tour. For those who love and miss Tony Bennett as much as Gaga does, you’ll love every second.
Lady Gaga Remembers Tony Bennett
After music legend Tony Bennett passed, Lady Gaga, like all of us, was heartbroken. But unlike all of us, she was a close friend of the late singer and the two produced an album together. Just days after his passing, it was announced a documentary about the two’s friendship until the end is in the works.
Gaga herself shared a moving tribute to Bennett, saying: “I will miss my friend forever. I will miss singing with him, recording with him, talking with him, being on stage together. With Tony, I got to live my life in a time warp. Tony & I had this magical power. We transported ourselves to another era, modernized the music together, & gave it all new life as a singing duo. But it wasnt an act. Our relationship was very real. Sure he taught me about music, about showbiz life, but he also showed me how to keep my spirits high and my head screwed on straight. “Straight ahead,” he’d say. He was an optimist, he believed in quality work AND quality life. Plus, there was the gratitude…Tony was always grateful. He served in WWII, marched with Martin Luther King Jr., and sang jazz with the greatest singers and players in the world…”
Viva Las Gaga
As evident in the above trailer, there is no lack of drama and enthusiasm on Lady Gaga’s part. As is her standard, even the costumes are wild and dazzling. The return to Vegas comes at a nice time for the pop star, as the Chromatic Ball tour closed last September. After a nice break, it is time to return to the stage.
