Justin Bieber Leaves Scooter Braun’s Management

A number of major artists

Justin Bieber is seeking new management after dismissing Scooter Braun’s management corporation.

Along with Bieber, Demi Lovato is reportedly on the lookout for new management too. Ariana Grande is rumored to have also ditched Scooter Braun’s SB Projects. It is not a good day to be Scooter Braun, that’s for sure. This isn’t the first round of losses, though. Earlier in May, J. Balvin left SB Projects. This seems to be a trend. Who could leave next, we don’t know, but if Bieber’s gone, expect several more to join him in parting ways.

Justin Bieber: Free Agent

Considering Justin Bieber’s retained his pop star status for over a decade, management companies must be scrambling to take the job. Scooter Braun is credited with discovering the Canadian singer and dancer, so it’ll be interesting to see where Bieber goes next, and how much larger he can be made.

Ariana Grande Makes Changes

Ariana Grande joined SB Projects before the release of her debut album Yours Truly in 2013. Scooter Braun remained her manager throughout her discography. This includes the releases of 2014’s My Everything, 2016’s Dangerous Woman, 2018’s Sweetener, 2019’s Thank U, Next, and 2020’s Positions. However, shortly before the release of Dangerous Woman, Ariana Grande fired Scooter Braun for the first time. She then re-hired him the following year.

Regarding their working relationship, Scooter Braun made several comments to MTV News.

“I kept seeing this girl online. And I knew she had a show that she was involved in on Nickelodeon, [Victorious,] and I would see her at different award shows and there was something very charismatic about her. I started watching videos and I started getting blown away by what an incredible voice she had.”

He also discussed being fired by her (for the first time) in Variety.

“They were like, ‘Never take her back!,’ but I just said ‘Let’s stay quiet and let our truth be our actions. And when s—ty boyfriends leave, she starts to see the light on some stuff, and one day I got a phone call.”

Who Is Scooter Braun?

Scooter Braun is perhaps most famous for his legal battle with Taylor Swift. Otherwise, he is credited with developing numerous careers of the latest crop of the mega-famous. He also manages Carly Rae Jepsen, Post Malone, the Black Eyed Peas, and Idina Menzel.
