UK electronic duo Jungle shared one more single off their upcoming album Loving In Stereo, due in August. This time, they linked up with New York rapper Das for their new track “Romeo.”
“Romeo” is a Special Track for Jungle and Bas
Jungle have been giving us songs off Loving In Stereo, getting fans excited to have the full record on their hands already. Although the LP is not due until August 13, we’ve already grooved to their tracks “Keep Moving” and “Talk About It”. “Jungle changed the dance-filled sound from these songs on Romeo, making the new single a very special one.”
“We’d never had a featured artist on a record before. But Bas is part of the journey of this album. So it just had to make the cut,” Jungle’s J Lloyd explained of the collaboration in a statement. The hip-hop-inspired single came after Jungle appeared on the line-up at New York’s Greatest Day Ever festival alongside Bas. The rapper later joined the band at their sessions at The Church in London.
Speaking about “Romeo,” Bas says, “I’ve always been on a mission to work with artists whose sounds and worlds inspire me beyond rap’s sonic landscape. Jungle have been high on that list; since a recommendation from a friend when I was in London 7 years ago. I was and still am completely blown away by their music. Fast forward to The Greatest Day Ever festival a few years back our dressing rooms were down the hall from each other. I was BIG LIT off tequila so the voice in my head was like; ‘GO IN THERE AND TELL THEM HOW DOPE THEY ARE’. I burst in there like the Kool-Aid man and did just that. We linked back up in London and now we got a tune. I guess the moral of the story is listen to the tequila voice in your head?”
