Jonas Blue & Why Don’t We Unite For “Don’t Wake Me Up”

English DJ Jonas Blue and pop band Why Don’t We united for the new dance-pop single “Don’t Wake Me Up,” bringing both of their talents to the table.

The Perfect Blend on “Don’t Wake Me Up”

“Don’t Wake Me Up” arrives as Jonas’ first song since September’s “Sad Boy” alongside Ava Max and Kylie Central; and Why Don’t We’s holiday offering “Mistletoe.” Prior to that, they officially marked their comeback since their last album The Good Times and The Bad Ones with “Love Back.”

“Don’t Wake Me Up” is energetic and dreamy, making it a perfect blend of the DJ and the boyband’s qualities. Uplifting dance music plays along with the boys’ soft vocals, who sing about dreaming about their perfect girl and not wanting to come back to reality. “Don’t wake me up in the middle of the night. ‘Cause I finally found you. I feel your love every time I close my eyes. ‘Cause I finally found you,” they sing in the chorus.

Jonas & Why Don’t We Speak About the Collab

Jonas shares, “I’ve been wanting to get a collab going with Why Don’t We since they first hit me up on Twitter back in 2019. These guys have amazing vocals which grabbed me instantly, so I knew we could create something really special together. ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ has a real depth to the lyrics. If you break it down it’s about finding your true love in your dream.”

Why Don’t We’s Corbyn Besson adds, “This song started with a late-night call from a good friend of mine, Lukas Costas, asking if I’d be down to come over and record scratch vocals on a piano ballad he just wrote. After we finished the vocals I showed my bandmates the demo and they loved it. That’s when we got in touch with Jonas. He loved the potential the song had and before we knew it, we had received the first draft of what would become a pop-dance banger. Enjoy ‘Don’t Wake Me Up!’”
