They introduced the track on 10 June 2022, “Glimpse of Us” marks Joji’s first single as the headline artist since those associated with his last studio album, 2020’s “Nectar”. Joji wrote this song with Joel Castillo, Idarose, Riley McDonough, and his brother, Connor McDonough, with Connor also serving as the producer of the track.

The music video is a complete chaos and is a very different vibe from the song but captures its theme very well. It is of Joji and his friends hanging out and doing reckless acts. As it continues the view realizes these acts are self-destructing. In the middle we see a couple arguing and reminiscing on what it used to be.
The video describes the destruction of a relationship and the destruction of the self. As the video escalates you see his behavior go overboard and more self-destructing. The video becomes toxic and depressing in an attempt to numb from the idea of not being with his past lover.

The 29-year-old singer began his career as a comedian on his old YouTube channel TVFilthyFrank, which is now deleted. In late 2017, he retired from comedy to focus on a serious music career; releasing his debut EP In Tongues in November 2017 and his first studio album BALLADS 1 in October 2018.
