Harry Styles Is Odd In ‘Music For A Sushi Restaurant’

“Music For A Sushi Restaurant” Music Video

Two weeks ago Harry Styles released the music video for “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.” Now, I’m a Harry Styles kind of guy. I like his music, his vibe, and his latest album is just really damn good. That said, the opening track isn’t really the best opener. Before you click off, please understand that I say that with a bit of confusion. You can imagine how much more confused I was when I saw the music video for “Music For A Sushi Restaurant.” Let’s see if you’ll feel the same.

Harry Styles Is An Octopus Man:

Yep, that subheading is no joke. The video for “Music For A Sushi Restaurant” opens with a pretty normal thing, some dude goes and calls his homies to pick up what seems to be a crab. That is, until we cut to what they were really getting: a half-octopus half-man… thing. It’s weird! Even so, things are rolling like it’s just a normal Tuesday! This is not a normal Tuesday! That is Harry Styles with a beard everyone, we can’t just ignore this!

Anyway, the music of course kicks in and what we see is continuously odd and somewhat funny imagery. You got writer/director Aube Perrie to thank for that. Never thought I’d see Harry Styles eat a raw fish whole and get scrubbed clean. I also didn’t think I would ever see Harry propped up mermaid style singing for a crowd. So yeah, he’s used as a mascot and attraction until he can’t sing anymore, then gets cut up into sushi. Pretty happy ending, huh?!

Seriously though, the “Music For A Sushi Restaurant” music video is a fun time if you turn your brain off. As for the music itself, it’s alright. I really do mean that it’s just fine. Harry Styles has been able to give us bangers in the past and this one’s just okay. Hence, my confusion. That said, feel free to check out the music video now by watching it above or clicking here.
