The Engineers Behind George Strait’s Records
The Immersive Audio Album category is to honor sound engineers. Certainly, they are true heroes behind our favorite records. In this case, Chuck Ainley and Michael Romanowski are two of those heroes.
In response to the big news, Chuck Ainley shared his reaction to his nomination on Facebook.
“Congratulations to all the deserving Nominees in the category of Best Immersive Audio Album. It’s such a huge honor for George Strait’s, Blue Clear Sky to be nominated alongside each of these amazing sounding recordings. The original stereo release was produced by Tony Brown, engineered by Steve Tillish and I mixed back in 1996. I’m Currently working on the next George Strait album that will be released sometime next year. Be on the lookout!”
Michael Romanowski’s Nominations
As a matter of fact, every album nominated this year features Michael Romanowski except for Madison Beer’s Silence Between Songs. In case you didn’t know, Romanowski runs Coast Mastering. Like Ainley before him, Romanowski shared a post on Facebook regarding his several nominations.
“Beyond words… 4 “Best Immersive Audio Album” #grammy nominations this year…each vastly different and unique but ALL truly incredible Immersive bodies of work![…] A big thank you to all the teams for having me involved on these beautiful albums and to the Recording Academy / GRAMMYs voting members for the honor to be considered a nominee amongst so many of my talented peers and deserving projects. Cheers and best of luck to all my fellow #grammy nominees!”
Blue Clear Sky released originally in 1996. The titular song was a hit. Bob DiPiero co-wrote it with John Jarrard and Mark D. Sanders. Moreover, the album itself won CMA Album of the Year.
