Everything To Know About The New “Challengers” Trailer

The first official trailer for the new movie Challengers was recently released as of Tuesday June 20th. Releasing September 15th, it will star Zendaya, Mike Faust and Josh O’Connor. The film is directed by Luca Guadagnino, known for the films Eyes and All and Call Me By Your Name. What viewers get from the trailer so far is that the main character Tashi, played by Zendaya, is a coach. She has turned her husband, Art, portrayed by Josh O’Connor, into a perfect player. Though when starting on a losing streak, he is forced to enter a low level challenge tournament to prove himself. As it seems Art is struggling in the beginning, CNN reveals that the movie will end in a world championship, Tashi “turning Art into a grand slam champion.”

Though during the tournament for the championship, he is forced to play against Tashi’s former boyfriend, Patrick. This then starts the unwanted love triangle where viewers will have to find out what happens. Over the story line, the two minute trailer plays Rihanna’s “S&M” aa a good way to show competition and chemistry. As per Glamour magazine, the trailer is “complex and queer, as we’re not certain how steamy it gets given its rated R.” The most notable scene includes both Patrick and Art kissing Tashi in a hotel room after the tournament. So who knows how far the sex will go in this movie.

With the trailer promising a good story line as well as reviews, viewers will have to wait and see if the movie truly lives up to its standards.
