The ever impactful “Madman Across the Water” from Elton John will be getting a reissue in celebration of its 50th anniversary. Originally released in 1971 by Elton John (Jesus Christ, Elton John is old), the album features the earworm “Tiny Dancer.” Yeah, it’s that one. Now, I bet you’re wondering just how different this reissue will be. Whether it’s worth buying or not.
Well, here’s what I got for ya. The reissue of “Madman Across the Water” will feature all its original tracks and boast 18 unreleased ones! Now, buyer’s discretion is advised, most of these unreleased tracks will be piano demos of the songs on the album. With that said, there will be original versions of songs and live performances from days of old.
All physical goods of “Madman Across the Water” are packaged in three cds (or vinyl) and a 40-page behind the scenes story on how the album was made. If you’re a fan of the flamboyantly confident Elton then this is something I can’t recommend more. Hell then, if you’ve never even heard of Elton John… I don’t know how but I digress.
You can pre-order right here. Not much of a fan? That’s fine. All the tracks from the original album are available on Spotify and it’s definitely something I can recommend. Check out the biographical musical ‘Rocketman,” featuring Taron Egerton as Elton John.
