Demi Lovato has announced details of her upcoming docuseries Dancing with the Devil. The singer-songwriter and actress will be releasing the YouTube Originals documentary series in March and address some of her recent troubles.
What Demi Said About Dancing With The Devil
Demi shared on Instagram: “There has been so much that I’ve wanted to say, but knew I had to say it right. DEMI LOVATO: DANCING WITH THE DEVIL will be streaming free on YouTube starting March 23rd”. She added: “Thank you to my family, friends, and fans for staying by my side over the years as I learn and grow. I’m so excited to finally share this story with you that I’ve held on to for the last 2 years. #DemiDWTD coming soon!”
Demi also shared more details about the docuseries. “It’s been two years since I came face-to-face with the darkest point in my life. Now I’m ready to share my story with the world”. Adding that, “For the first time, you’ll be able to see my chronicle of struggle and ongoing healing from my point of view. I’m grateful that I was able to take this journey to face my past head-on and finally share it with the world.”
A Look Into The Docuseries
The press release describes the series as an honest look back at some of the most trying times in Demi’s life. She unearths her prior traumas and discovers the importance of her physical, emotional, and mental health. These traumas likely refer to Demi’s near-fatal overdose back in 2018. Demi went on to speak out on World Suicide Prevention Day in September last year.
The ‘I Love Me’ singer said: “Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Since a young age, I’ve dealt with suicidal thoughts and depression. I’ve been very vocal in raising the awareness of mental health. It is possible to see the light when you start the work on yourself.”
Dancing With The Devil will also make its debut at the SXSW Festival, which had to be canceled last year. The film festival will kick off with the World Premiere of YouTube Originals docuseries Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil as its Opening Night Headliner. SXSW Online kicks off on March 16 and continues through March 20.
