“Sticky” marks the second single Dava has released this year. Last year, she gained popularity thanks to her hit single “ASOSM,” which has over 1 million streams on Spotify. “Sticky” is a refreshing pop anthem perfect to play during a pool day with your friends.
Dava’s personality is transparent and clear in her music, which she also showcases in the “Sticky” music video. Directed by Jonas Gaida and co-directed by Dava and Milo Lee; it showcases an all-yellow background. Dava dances along while looking at the camera and playing her guitar. She makes it fun and simple – making her a true artist.
On the inspiration behind her new single, Dava shares, “I made ‘Sticky’ with some of my best friends, it’s probably the happiest record we’ve ever created. I was listening to a lot of Gwen and Beastie Boys and throughout the process of making this song, we found a lot of freedom in taking such a clean sound and pairing it with the surprise bridge. That’s my favorite thing about music – the freedom of putting as much of you into a song as possible. I think ‘Sticky’ is the perfect record to leave behind before a new era.”
She adds, “‘Sticky’ is one of my favorite songs to date. It’s upbeat and super clean for the most part, which is different for me. I wrote it about being in love and wanting to spend every second next to someone. No Doubt and The Beastie Boys were huge inspirations when I was creating this record.”
