Cavetown Teases EP With “Ur Gonna Wish U Believed Me”

Cavetown announced that he has an upcoming EP on the way titled Man’s Best Friend. To celebrate, he gave fans the first puzzle piece to the project, the new single“Ur Gonna Wish U Believed Me.”

The Tragic Story of “Ur Gonna Wish U Believed Me”

“Ur Gonna Wish U Believed Me” is a peaceful indie pop song that contains melancholic, nostalgic, and bittersweet themes. Cavetown expresses feeling pain, being hurt, and having people not believe that it’s true. He is accompanied by an acoustic guitar and foggy wisps of his voice. “You’re gonna wish you believed me. God, I wish I was happy. The fraying threads of recovery. Crushing me from above and underneath,” he sings. It’s beautiful – however, it’s emotional.

In the accompanying music video, Cavetown shows that he is being convicted for a crime that he didn’t commit – kidnapping animals! The real criminal is set free, though, hence the lyrical declaration, “Ur gonna wish u believed me.”

Cavetown talked to Melodic Magazine about the new song, “It’s about when you’re desperately asking for help, but made to feel like you’re not hurt or ill enough to get the assistance you need,” he says of the song. “Feeling like anywhere you go for help, you are made to feel like it’s just attention-seeking behavior when you’re actually in a lot of pain.”

Check Out Cavetown’s Merchandise And Upcoming EP!

He also shares that one dollar from every water bottle order is going to The PCRF to help people in Palestine. Also, a relevant and kind donation!
