Bizarrap Makes “TIME” Next Generation Leaders’ List

What is Argentina known for? Surely its soccer champions (Messi, Maradona), the dances (La Cumbia), their particular tea (El Mate), the Mullet which went global… and now there’s Bizarrap.

5 Latin nominations, including Best Producer and Best New Artist, and most-streamed Argentine artist globally in 2022. Bizarrap has become an icon of the new hispanic music scene thanks to his brilliant ideas. At only 24 years old, he has won over the world with the winning format Bzrp Music Session.

He broke into the limelight with his viral collaborations with various Latin American artists including Quevedo, Shakira, Nicky Jam, and Anuel AA. His latest drop, featuring the Mexican singer Peso Pluma, now has more than 35 million streams after only a week from the release. These crazy numbers testify to how much esteem Bizarrap has obtained in such a short period of time. And there’s yet another recognition.

TIME’s Next Generation Leaders

TIME Magazine has unveiled its 2023 Next Generation Leaders list this week spotlighting 10 trendsetters and trailblazers, including Bizarrap himself. A nomination that has even more meaning considering that the list is mainly composed of people that have nothing to do with the music industry (activists, actors, journalists, sport stars, influencers). Bizarrap, together with the k-pop girl band NewJeans, is the only representative of the music world.

The future seems bright for the new phenomenon of Latin music. And for Bizarrap, there’s still much more to accomplish.
