Welcome to Music Daily’s Trending Tracks, where we highlight the artists and trends occupying the music industry’s attention. Some come out of the woodwork, others have endured a months-long crusade to greatness. Nonetheless, all of them are captivating the short-circuited minds of Gen-Z social media users.

This week, Billie Eilish crashes the chart with her hotly anticipated third studio, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, and Tinashe’s latest viral moment might be her most promising second chance at mainstream stardom yet.

“LUNCH” by Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish’s third album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, garnered 339,000 units during its first week without any previous singles. The album’s strategic internet-ridden marketing sported a huge turnout with 193.3 million on-demand streams and 191K pure sales. However, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department blocked the “Bad Guy” singer from the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 Album chart.

According to Eilish, “LUNCH” helped express herself, with more intimate parts not fully realized until last year. “I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand — until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina. I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years.” Stream “LUNCH” by Billie Eilish below.

“Revival” by Zach Bryan

Zach Bryan never got his radio moment with 2020’s “Revival,” yet the countryman did have his concert moment alongside Bruce Springsteen and Maggie Rogers. The feel-good acoustic borderlines a diet soft rock track reminiscent of The Eagles, but the Oklahoma native hit a road trip tune right on the money.

“CHIHRO” by Billie Eilish

First advertised in a Fortnite Festival advertisement along with a purchasable Billie Eilish skin, the ever-shifting “CHIHIRO” is more than Hayao Miyazaki-inspired, it was cut from the very fine fabrics of Studio Ghibli and handstitched in the deepest blue synths. In what Eilish describes as “one of the coolest moments of the whole album,” the track had a hand in its astronomical first-week sales, pocketing around 70M streams at the time of writing. “BK Back” by Baby Kia

“BK Back” comes from a long line of Jersey-inspired Drill raps that are entertaining TikTok lately. Although not widely known, Atlanta rapper Baby Kia’s Top 5 songs on Spotify sport over 2M streams each respectively, with his latest remix supporting 2023’s “BK Back” hot on the track for first place. “Nasty” by Tinashe

After the many Tate McRae comparisons, the “2 On” singer put her Janet Jackson dancing shoes on for her latest single, “Nasty.” In typical ‘Nashe fashion, its debut was molecular, just shy of 1.4M streams on Spotify in its first week. However, thanks to a dancing duo’s zesty hip rotations and groovy dance that simply went beyond viral, Tinashe’s “Nasty” surpassed over 9.2M global streams in its first month of release, becoming her highest debut as an independent artist. Now, the TikTokers have a brand deal with Marc Jacobs promoting the company’s new sack bag, with “Nasty” playing in the background. They join other social media royalty and music superstars Charli XCX and Sabrina Carpenter as brand ambassadors. Stream “Nasty” by Tinashe below.
