On Wednesday, October 18th, Saturday Night Live released their newest promo of Bad Bunny and his official WWE Friday Night smackdown. What viewers can get from the video is the rapper going against himself in an ultimate face-off. In the end, no version of the rapper, host or guest, wants to tap out. Before the match, the insults keep coming, some in Spanish with subtitles. A longtime fan of professional wrestling, Bad Bunny has competed and performed in a number of WWE events. This will also be his second Saturday Night Live performance since 2020.

So far, the rapper has had a busy 2023. He released his fifth album nadie sabe lo que va pasar mañana on October 13th and starred in the biopic Cassandro, a movie painting the life of gay wrestler Saúl Armendáriz. October 28th will be Bad Bunny’s first time hosting SNL. The show is coming off its hiatus in light of the writer’s strike. The rapper also just recently announced his 2024 American Tour as of October 19th. Known as the Most Wanted Tour, it will kick off in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 21st.

With his Puerto Rican background, as per People, he got his start back in 2018 as a Soundcloud artist. First, he was featured on the two hit songs “I Like It,” with Cardi B, and “Mia,” with Drake. Since then, he has gone on to release four other albums. Two of them hit number one on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart. He has also received six Grammy nominations, winning twice for Best Latin Pop or Urban Album and Best Musicia Urbana Album. With his WWE fanatics, he last won the 24/7 championship back in 2021. Being the star of the next episode next Saturday night, fans will have to wait and see who wins between host and musical guest.
