The last thing we expected in the world was to see Bad Bunny as a pool lifeguard. But hey, never say never.
Directed by Dave Meyers and Mia Barnes, the 90-second spot shows the rapper from Puerto Rico overlooking a community pool where everyone is tired and drained from the summer heat. Then, he suddenly discovers that his last single “Where She Goes” turns up the party once a bottle of Pepsi is opened. The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 – another huge success after un x100to (Grupo Frontera) and many others.
Press Play on Summer: Pepsi & Apple Music
The spot is part of Press Play On Summer, Pepsi’s latest Summer campaign in collaboration with Apple Music. PPOS offers up to 3 months of free and unlimited listening on the music streaming platform to new and qualified returning subscribers. Available in the US & Puerto Rico, the campaign also includes over 100,000 instant prizes and the opportunity to travel with the purchase of select limited-edition PepsiCo beverages.
“Pepsi has a rich heritage of creating iconic music video style commercials with some of the world’s biggest artists. We remember Britney Spears, Ray Charles, Madonna, Dr. Dre, Beyonce, Chloe Bailey and many more” – said CMO of Pepsi Todd Kaplan in a statement.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Bad Bunny to the Pepsi family with his very own spot. Bringing in all the summer vibes with his new track ‘Where She Goes’. This song is already the soundtrack of the summer. It is the perfect way to kick off our Press Play on Summer program that gives fans up to 3 months of Apple Music with every 20 oz ice-cold Pepsi”.
Bad Bunny is one of the biggest pop culture phenomenon of the last few years. And who knows what comes next.
