Baby Tate gets “Pedi” in her new era

Introducing: Baby TateBaby Tate from the "Pedi" music video

Ask yourself, who is the pettiest person that you know?  You may have formerly known her as Yung Baby Tate, but she goes by Baby Tate now, according to the queen-of-camp rapstress herself.  Her newest single Pedi and the additional dropping of “Yung” from her name ushers the artist into her new era.  Additionally, the artist announced that she is moving from her former record label Raedio to Warner Records.  The name change and label switch pivot Baby Tate towards a new age of music.  Earlier this year the artist released a full-length version of her 2020 EP After the Rain.  The project spawned the hit Flo Milli collab I am and TikTok darling Focused.  She was also featured on Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta‘s 10th season.  Now, with Pedi, she shows us to trust her view and NOT to try her.

Pedi is lively and fast-paced

The intro to the song sees Baby Tate playfully introducing her new stage name.  The song then wastes no time jumping into the fast and catchy hook.  “I’m a petty ass b*tch don’t try me” rings over and over again on the hook along with lyrics showing you how petty she will get.  Like, it doesn’t get much pettier than sending screenshots to your mommy.  The song was produced by Yellow Trash Can and JasperDoItAgain.  Together, the three created one of the most danceable and camp songs of the year.  Better yet, there is a music video for the track that shows you how true that is.

See just how petty she gets

In the video, Baby Tate dances around a yoga session, family dinner, and a chess competition.  The satirical video was produced by production company Collaboration Factory.  Basically in it, she wants to show you how petty she can get, and she looks great doing it.  Looking great is something to expect from the Atlanta artist at this point.  She has become synonymous with glittery color palettes and a more-is-more style approach.  Her aesthetic goes hand-in-hand with the confidence she exudes with her artistry.  This keeps Baby Tate on radars, not as clickbait, but as a truly one-of-a-kind creative.
