“Stick Season” by Noah Kahan
Now accumulating over 100k video creates on TikTok, Kahan found himself the golden ticket to international stardom in late 2022. Exploring themes of loneliness and change, Kahan explained to NME, “Stick season is between fall and the snow. It’s a time of transition in the weather, but also in a lot of people’s lives.” The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, sold over 2 million copies worldwide, earned platinum certifications, and solidified Kahan as a modern folk-pop sensation. “That’s So True” by Gracie Abrams
Abrams may be the quintessential opener for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, but the indie pop sensation’s sophomore album, The Secret Of Us, received such acclaim that a deluxe packaging was imminent with none other than the folk angst of “That’s So True.” Abrams called it a reflection of “the frustration of dealing with a disappointing ex,” revealing there’s even a “very vulgar version” that “will never see the light of day” at a private Spotify event. Peaking at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping both Spotify and Apple Music charts, the song cements her status as the new Gen-Z It girl. Stream “That’s So True” by Gracie Abrams below!
“Timeless” by The Weekend & Playboi Carti
“XO tatted all over her body, yeah / She just wanna roll and I don’t mind it,” The Weeknd sings on the Playboi Carti-guested single off his highly anticipated sixth album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. Currently on the road with his sold-out After Hours Til Dawn tour, the brooding production and hypnotic hook of “Timeless” helped it debut at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and land in the top ten across 15 countries. Featured in the accompanying music video, the duo has a steamy trade-off between spitting bars and loving on exotic dancers. Stream “Timeless” by The Weekend & Playboi Carti below!
