Released back in April, Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Future, has been on the Trending Tracks list ever since. This track debuted in the number one spot on the Billboard Top 100 and is featured in Future and Metro Boomin’s new album, We Don’t Trust You. That same album also debuted at the top spot on the Billboard Top 200 albums list. It seems to be more than just a spring hit.

“Like That” has stayed in the Top 40 on Music Daily’s Trending Tracks chart for 23 weeks. It hit No. 3 the week of May 11th and still has staying power. According to Pitchfork, “‘Like That’ is Kendrick Lamar’s third No. 1 song, following 2017’s ‘Humble.’ and 2015’s ‘Bad Blood.’ The track is also Future’s third chart-topper, following ‘Wait for U’ and ‘Way 2 Sexy.’ For the first, Metro Boomin has a No. 1 song.”

On Spotify, this trending track has now pushed 552+ million streams worldwide. Back in May, it also reached “5.6 million airplay audience impressions in its first week,” according to Variety. The song itself has created somewhat of a rivalry between Drake and Lamar. This includes retorts to Drake’s “First Person Shooter,” which has also been on many top 100 charts. This rivalry has been going on for a decade, though that isn’t surprising. Both rappers have vied for their music to make any top 100 or 200 list since 2011.

With the release of “Like That,” receiving more streams than “Flowers” and “Anti-Hero,” the feud has become a publicity stunt. It’s proving successful in actually promoting the new and upcoming album, and leaving Drake to make the next big move. The success in streams feels even more poignant considering Metro Boomin has lost a few album awards to Drake himself.

Future and Metro Boomin’s latest single, “Type Shit,” has been very popular as well. It’s now closing in on three hundred million streams at 370+ million.
