When your last name is West, talent is a family affair. Just ask North West.
Only weeks after becoming one of the youngest artists to ever chart on Billboard’s Hot 100 list, Kanye West’s daughter (age 10) has announced she is planning to release her debut album.
Twenty Years After The College Dropout
Little North is taking inspiration from The College Dropout (2004), one of the pillars of Ye’s discography. “I’ve been working on an album, and it’s called ‘Elementary School Dropout,’” she told the crowd present in Phoenix at Kanye’s listening party for Vultures 2.
North delivered the news while her dad stood by her wearing a mask. Later, she performed “Talking,” a track in Ye & Ty Dolla Sign’s joint album, Vultures 1. Kanye also brought on stage North’s siblings, Chicago & Psalm, for a cute family scenario.
North West’s announcement was one of the many major moments at the Vultures 2 listening event. Ye also previewed songs from the forthcoming project featuring Future, Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, Project Pat, 070 Shake and Don Toliver.
North West: a Young Icon in the Making
Despite her young age, North West is already a big topic of discussion. Many people love her spontaneity which, together with her exuberant character, makes her a young icon following in dad’s footsteps.
After all, it seems that North doesn’t mind all this media attention (at least for now).
