The release follows April’s single, “Super Sex Mona Lisa.” “Super Sex Mona Lisa” sees Xylø reflect on starting an OnlyFans to support her music career. She explores the newfound confidence it has given her.
“‘A Girl Like Me Should Never Be Left Alone’ is about female rage and wanting to live life with your head out the window,” read the press statement. “Referencing partying in Miami like influencer Alix Earle, XYLØ just wants to see the world while she’s young rather than sit inside her small apartment and rot.”
The Los Angeles-based musician beats boredom via masturbating in the shower. Additionally, she also screams out her despair against the ’80s grunge synth guitars, first heard on “Super Sex Mona Lisa.” The single is an electrifying preview to Xylø’s work-in-progress sophomore album, one she said will be “colorful.”
