Fun Personified; “Deep End” by Dayglow

Alternative/Indie darling Dayglow has released the super bubbly “Deep End.” Of course, with a title like that you’d think it’d be pretty down, but I’m happy to report that’s not the case. Let’s take a dive shall we? (Ha!)

Fun Personified:

There are a lot of songs that try to be fun but go way too into the goofy. Making them nice and light, but not really having much to say. For Dayglow and “Deep End” there’s a bit of a serious undertone to the lyrics, but the fun never stops. Especially for that music video! Dayglow was asked “How much color do you want?” to which he replied with a resounding “Yes.”

With those visuals, it’s honestly surprising how perfect they fit the sweet and poppy melody. As for the vocal delivery, Dayglow has a really distinct range and infectious sound. This has been a thing since the ultra successful “Can I Call You Tonight?,” so if you’ve been a fan for a while this is business as usual. It’s a banger and that’s all we could ask for.

Dayglow is coming back with a full swing with a new album, People in Motion. Set to release October 7th, you know you gotta keep an ear out for that. For more on your favorites and unknown check out our Word and Drops sections.
