“Mezzanotte” is the Reggaeton/Dance Ballad of Spanish Newcomer Ana Mena

“Mezzanotte”, by Spanish singer Ana Mena, is the European cover of the new Music Daily’s Discoveries. Ana Mena, from Malaga, is already a known name in Europe and Latin America, but not yet in the USA. On Spotify, the numbers speak for her. 97 millions of clicks for “A Un Paso De La Luna”, 30 for “Un beso de improviso” and 24 for “Musica Ligera”.

International collaborations and more

Thanks also to the important collaborations (Becky G, De La Ghetto, CNCO), she has been able to become one of the most interesting reggaeton newcomers. Besides that, Ana Mena has also a special relationship with another country: Italy. Her featurings with some Italian artists (Rocco Hunt, Fred de Palma) and her participation at Sanremo Festival – the Italian main musical competition – testifies it. “Mezzanotte” is indeed totally in Italian, which is actually pretty close to Spanish. It’s a reggaeton/dance ballad which is a must for dancing at the club.

Ana Mena has already conquested the European market. But now it’s time to become more international, following her predecessors. The latin vibes are always into her works, and sound delicious. The sensual sound of the Spanish approach is mixed with some romantic lyrics and a nice voice. She’s definitely not a revolution in the reggaeton genre, but surely a good surprise.

Three dates in Spain for this summer

Moreover, Ana Mena has also programmed some dates in Spain for this summer. 25th June, Madrid (Estadio Wanda Metropolitano), 30th June, Benicassim (Valencia) and 23rd July in Santander. The lineups also provide some other big names of latin music, such as Dvicio, Los Secretos and Duki.

With “Mezzanotte”, Ana Mena wants to be once again one of the protagonists of the summer. We still have to wait some time to see the evolution of this track. But, as always, just the fans will be the judges of this. Europe, Latin America… what’s next?
