Singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo and rapper Drake are among some of the biggest winners at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.

The Big Winners at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards

The 2022 Billboard Music Awards saw artists collecting an abundance of awards, all while breaking records in the process.

To start, Olivia Rodrigo, the biggest winner of the night, brought home 7 awards. She won Top New Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, and Top Billboard Global 200 Artist. To boot, her first studio album, Sour, won the Top Billboard 200 Album.

Drake won 5 awards, which brought his total of Billboard awards to 34. He now holds the most Billboard Awards ever held by an artist. This year, he won Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist, and Top Rap Male Artist.     Additionally, his album Certified Lover Boy won Top Rap Album.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, won 6 awards that night. He won Top Christian Artist and Top Gospel Artist, while his album Donda won Top Christian Album and Top Gospel Album. Plus, his song “Hurricane” won Top Christian Song and Top Gospel Song.

The Kid LAROI & Justin Bieber took home 5 awards for their song “Stay”: Top Hot 100 Song, Top Streaming Song, Top Collaboration, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, and Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Song.

Taylor Swift won 4 awards this year: Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Country Artist, Top Country Female Artist, and Top Country Album for her album Red (Taylor’s Version).

Doja Cat brought home 4 Billboard awards: Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Album for her album Planet Her, and Top Viral Song for her song “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA.

Honorable Mention Wins

Continuing on, BTS won 3 awards: Top Duo/Group, Top Song Sales Artist, and Top Selling Song for their song “Butter.”

Dua Lipa took home 2 awards: Top Radio Song for her song “Levitating” and Top Dance/Electronic Song for her collaboration with Elton John on the song “Cold Heart – PNAU Remix.”

The Rolling Stones (No Filter Tour) won both Top Tour and Top Rock Tour.

Lastly, the Disney film Encanto, responsible for the earworm “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” won the Billboard Top Soundtrack award.

Clearly, the night of the 2022 Billboard Music Awards was full of record-making and impressive wins!
