Zildjian Cymbals Celebrate 400th Anniversary W/ A Unique Concert

Zildjian Cymbals are celebrating their 400th Anniversary! Tonight at The Roadrunner in Boston will be a night to remember. The instrument company is throwing a concert honoring eight famous drummers. Discover everything you need to know here!

In Honor of Zildjian’s 400th Anniversary

“To celebrate Zildjian’s 400th anniversary, we are releasing 400 limited edition vintage cymbals from the Zildjian family’s private vault,” starts the official announcement from the Zildjian official site.

Zildjian Cymbals has in fact selected “200 of our finest 20” vintage A rides, which were produced during the mid-1940’s, and 200 15” vintage A crash cymbals produced between the mid-1930s and mid-1950s.” These are all being released as limited editions for the 400th anniversary. The brand’s announcement includes that the cymbals were made in the original U.S. factory in Quincy, MA.

Each cymbal in this collection features individual characteristics such as stick marks and fingerprints. These unique traits belonged to people such as Armand Zildjian and Avedis Zildjian III. To prove the worth of the cymbals, every purchase includes a certificate of authenticity, signed by Craigie Zildjian. This certifies that each cymbal is one of “the 400 hand selected cymbals picked out of the family’s private cymbal vault.”

Moreover, to make things easier, an adapter will be included to allow everyone to play this cymbal on a modern cymbal stand. Special cymbal gloves will also be included.

Find all the dealers here and make sure to get your unique and limited edition of the vintage cymbals.

Fred Armisen to Celebrate

To celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the company, Zildjian invited an American comedian, actor, and drummer to host. Fred Armisen is participating in the “once-in-a-lifetime event as we honor eight living legends of music.” Those eight musical legends are Eddie Bayers, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dennis Chambers, Sheila E., Peter Erskine, Omar Hakim, Steve Smith, and Ringo Starr.

As the organizers announced, the event will also feature performances by today’s greatest drummers. Some of those many drummers include Gorden Campbell, Josh Dun, Evan Hutchings, Roni Kaspi, Adam Nussbaum, Marc Quioñones, Antonio Sanchez, Jamie-Leigh Schultz, Nate Smith, Ash Soan, and Devon Taylor.

Additionally, the event is hosting a charity auction. The auction is selling music memorabilia to raise money for MusiCares.
