The Lumineers Promote An Eco-Friendly Tour

With the problem being more and more central in everyone’s life, it isn’t a surprise that multiple artists and event organizers are finally embracing the theme of sustainability. After the announce of The Big Climate Thing Festival for this fall, The Lumineers join the (positive) trend and announce their “Climate Positive Tour.”

“We are so excited to return to Europe and the UK again and to reconnect with our amazing fans,” the band recently said, announcing the upcoming tour in Europe and the UK. Six months after the end of the currently-ongoing world tour (that will see the band perform in ten more cities in both Oceania, Asia and South Africa until the end of November), The Lumineers will return on stage in June 2023 to begin their “Climate Positive Tour.”

Through a statement, the Lumineers announced:

“The band has committed to a comprehensive climate action program via REVERB’s Music Climate Revolution campaign, which, in addition to reducing the tour’s environmental footprint and engaging fans to take action at the shows, will support projects that directly and measurably eliminate greenhouse gases while benefitting diverse global communities.”

The tour will take place in Europe and The UK. In June, 13 cities will see the band perform live. Starting on June 2 in Dublin, Ireland, The Lumineers will cross seven countries in the continent in 14 nights. In July, it will be the UK’s turn. The band will indeed perform in four different cities between England (London and Halifax), Scotland (Edinburgh) and Wales (Cardiff).

An Ongoing Effective Partnership

However, this was not the band’s first “Climate Positive Tour.” Actually, the duo’s 2020 tour was defined as the world’s first major climate positive tour. The dates that followed ever since, maintained their environment sensibility and consciousness. This was in part by the band’s ongoing partnership with environmental non-profit organization REVERB.org.
