Another day, another hit by Sabrina Carpenter: it all started with the outrageous “Nonsense” outros, and now TikTok is soaking in the pre-summer rays with that, me “Espresso,” released the day before the first Coachella weekend. “Espresso” has staying power on Music Daily’s chart and Billboard’s Top 10. The artist also had a successful debut on SNL last weekend.
In tandem with the single release, the Dave Meyers-directed music video (Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Harry Styles) features the bronzey, ex-Disney star enjoying a beach getaway. Watch it below!
Less than a month later, Carpenter’s latest was already a chart-verified earworm track, peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. Additionally, the combination of the track’s TikTok viral lyric, “I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer,” with the fresh, dance-funk production put Carpenter’s “Espresso” another week atop Spotify’s Global chart with another 9.7 million streams—for a total of 179.9M streams on the platform alone.
The new single also comes on the heels of another career milestone for Carpenter, who recently earned her first No. 1 on Top 40 Radio for her platinum hit single, “Feather,” and held the top spot for two consecutive weeks. Earlier this year, Sabrina made headlines as she joined Taylor Swift on the international leg of her highly acclaimed Eras Tour in Mexico, South America, Australia and Singapore.
