The 30th anniversary of In Utero‘s release is no small event. As such, Nirvana fans are getting more than just a simple remaster.
On October 27th, Universal is releasing the 30th anniversary deluxe edition of In Utero. It is a massive collection. All of In Utero‘s original songs, plus outtakes, as well as two full-length Nirvana concerts, and paraphernalia, are included. In total, this edition contains 72 tracks, including 53 previously unreleased ones.
Nirvana In Concert
The full-length concerts included in this edition are from Los Angeles and Seattle shows. Also included are six bonus tracks from other concerts. These come from live shows in Springfield, New York, and Rome. The Rome concert is infamous among super-fans and is one of Nirvana’s last performances. Several low-quality bootlegs of it exist and now there is an official, high-quality release.
Producer Jack Endino (who produced Nirvana’s 1988 debut album Bleach) remastered the live tracks for this release. Bob Weston, Steve Albini’s co-engineer for In Utero, remastered the original 12-song tracklist, the five bonus tracks, as well as the B-sides.
