Lewis Capaldi Comes Back With “Forget Me”

The world has returned to a good place, Lewis Capaldi is back after three years! The award-winning Scottish singer-songwriter released his new single “Forget Me.”

Impossible to Forget Lewis Capaldi

I know, it’s been a long time since we last heard new music from Lewis. But I’m sure you haven’t forgotten him, as his hit songs “Someone You Loved” and “Before You Go” are still on the radar of many. After all, both of them surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify! That’s a true milestone.

But now, after three long years, Lewis is finally back. His last album, Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent broke tons of records, and after a world tour, he took the well-deserved break he deserved. But after working on new music during the pandemic, he is now finally ready to share it with us.

He Narrates a Break-up on “Forget Me”

“Forget Me” is slightly different than his past hits, yet it still has the indistinguishable Lewis Capaldi essence. This song still has the soul of his unforgettable ballads, but it’s faster-paced. In short, it wouldn’t surprise us if it goes to top of the charts soon.

The song narrates a time in Lewis’ life when he fell in love with someone who was hard to let go of when things sadly ended up going south. “’Cause I’m not ready. To find out you know how to forget me. I’d rather hear how much you regret me. And pray to God that you never met me,” he sings in the chorus.

“‘Forget Me’ is a song that’s so dear to my heart and I definitely feel like it’s my best tune yet,” Lewis says. “It’s about a break-up I went through where after a year, the only real contact I had with my ex was seeing her ‘post-me’ life play out on her Instagram. I was at a point where I was feeling pretty miserable and she seemed like she was moving on and having the best time, thriving, and I hated it. It seemed unfair to me that she appeared happy while I was hurting, and I was fearful she might have forgotten about me completely, so I wrote a song about it.”

So, if you have gone through a break-up recently, this song might be just for you. Otherwise, you can still pretend you’re heartbroken and sing your heart out to it. Like me!
